1957 Acquired by Smith and Nephew.

1958 Mill closed. 'Four hundred operatives at the Dale Mill. Rochdale, Lancashire, which has acquired by Smith and Nephew Associated Companies in July last year, were told last night that the mill is to close shortly. Spinning production is to be concentrated at the firm's Brierfield Mills near Nelson'[1]
