1908 The business started as a veterinary supplier to the farming community

The business focus changed rapidly to mineral oils as the tractor took over from the horse in farming.

The company developed all types of lubricants, moving into the pharmaceutical area to become the only UK manufacturer of vaselines.

1937 Received a new tank wagon with capacity of 2,750 gallons, constructed by the Aluminium Plant and Vessel Co., Ltd., Point Pleasant, London, S.W.18. The cab and chassis were supplied by Fodens, Ltd. The vehicle would be used for delivering, to large fleet owners and industrial users, bulk loads of Dalton's Silkolene engine oils. It will operate, in conjunction with the company's existing bulk-delivery service[1]

1952 the company was reportedly involved in capping the UK's first successful deep oil well at Hardstoft, on land owned by the Duke of Devonshire, which had been in production until 1945

1956 Parent company name changed to Silkolene Lubricants.
