DANIEL MURCOTT, born at Sedgeley on the 25th January, 1849, died at Shackleton, Western Australia, on the 14th October, 1915.
In early years he was an assistant to the late Mr. Joseph Fogerty, M. Inst. C.E., and to the late Sir John Fowler.
From 1877 to 1887 he practised as a constructional engineer in conjunction with Messrs. Stanley Hall and Company, and afterwards with Messrs. Charles Williams and Company.
In the latter year he went to Queensland, and served in the railway department for 4 years, and afterwards in the Public Works Departments of New South Wales, erecting several important bridges over the Murray river, and of Western Australia, retiring in 1913.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 1st March, 1892.
