'David Bellhouse, who passed from this life on the 19th instant, at the residence of one of his sons at Sale, in Cheshire, at the ripe old age of 74....Mr. Bellhouse commenced the busy life of this city under the auspices of his father, Mr. David Bellhouse one of the most eminent timber merchants of his time this part of England, as joiner, builder, and contractor on large scale. It is unnecessary say that he was highly successful, and that his name is inseparably connected with nearly all the great public edifices and works of his time...'[1]
