David Henry Colt Fry, engineer
1918 Born son of Cecil Roderick Fry (1890-1952), last family chairman of Fry's, the chocolate firm, and his wife Olave (nee Anderson)[1]
Studied engineering at Cambridge University[2]
1938 Designed the Freikaserwagen, which set the initial speed record at the Prescott Hill Climb[3]
WWII Joined the RAF
Later worked for Horstmann in Bath
1949 Set up Frenchay Products in his father's stables at Grove House, Frenchay. Later moved the business to Kingswood, Bristol
1949 The Freikaserwagen broke the record at Shelsley Walsh
1967 Died in Gloucestershire[4]
