David Kennedy was born in 1882.
Since 1906 he carried on his own business as Automobile and General Engineer.
He died in November, 1945, at the age of 63.
He was elected a Graduate in 1908, transferred to Associate Member in 1909, and to Member in 1920.

DAVID KENNEDY was actively engaged in business on his own account as a motor and general engineer for very nearly forty years up to the time of his death, which occurred on 17th November 1945, in his sixty-fourth year. He received his education at the Finsbury Technical College, prior to which, he was in the service of the General Electric Company, Ltd., of London, for two years. His apprenticeship was served with Messrs. Wigham Richardson and Company, Ltd., during 1902 and 1903.
After gaining experience as a mechanic at the East Grinstead Motor Works, Sussex, he established the firm of Messrs. David Kennedy (Engineers), Ltd., in South London, in 1906. Apart from motor repairs and general machine-shop routine the firm specialized in the construction of experimental machines for the cinematograph, photographic, and provision trades.
Mr. Kennedy had been an Associate Member of the Institution since 1915 and was also a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
