Deptford Pumping Station
1864: Three intercepting lines of sewer on the south side of the River Thames were built to unite at Deptford Creek where the Pumping Station pumped the contents of the low level line to the upper level, and the united streams of the three sewers flow in one channel, known as the Southern Outfall Sewer, through Woolwich to Crossness Point, in Erith Marshes.
