1874 This was said to be the date of establishment.

1901 The partnership between William Dilworth and Edgar Joseph Augustine Carr, carrying on business as hot water engineers at Charnley Street, Preston, was dissolved, with the business being continued by Carr alone under the style of Dilworth and Carr.[1]

The company was, in later years, a subsidiary of United Glass.
