1818 Established “for the purpose of affording advice and medicine to poor people”. The Dispensary collected money and offers from physicians and surgeons to work at no charge.
1836 18th AGM held. Long report. Resident Dispenser is Samuel Hele.[1]
1840 The Dispensary moved to its present location on the corner of Queen Street and Northernhay Street
1851 Resident is James Gilbard (age 30 born Exeter), Resident Dispenser. With his mother and sister.[2]
1861 Resident is James Gilbard (age 40 born Exeter), Dispenser of Medicine. With his wife and MIL.[3]
1881 Resident is Richard Challice (age 47 born Exeter), Dispenser and Dentist. With his wife Eliza and two daughters.[4]
1889 Listed are Robert Challice (Dispenser and Secretary) and George Ross (Dentist).[5]
1891 Resident is Richard Challice (age 57 born Exeter), Dispenser and Secretary. With his wife Eliza and two daughters.[6]
1906 Alan H. Ware is resident dispensary.[7]
