c1884 Born in Glasgow, the son of Hugh Harper Baird

1901 Living at 7 Roxburgh Mansions, Kensington: Hugh H. Baird (age 50 born Glasgow), Scientific Instrument Maker - Employer. With his wife Agnes G. Baird (age 49 born Tiverton) and their son Douglas H. Baird (age 17 born Glasgow). Three servants.[1]

1912 August 25th. Married at Thames Ditton to Dorothea Frances, daughter of Henry Temple Prior, Master of the Supreme Court, deceased. Douglas's father is Hugh Harper Baird, deceased, and both are Scientific Instrument Makers.

1920 Listed as 'Douglas Heriot Baird, Esq. Chairman and Managing Director, Messrs. Baird and Tatlock (London) Limited; Chairman and President, British Chemical Ware Manufacturers' Association.'[2]

1940 January 3rd. Died. of Halidon, Claremont Lane, Esher.
