Previous employment: Dorman, Long and Co., Ltd., Middlesbrough, Designer; I.C.I. Ltd., Billingham-on-Tees (1921-31); Senr. Constr. Civil Engr., especially on sewers, roads, bridges and railways. Served with H.M. Forces during Great War (1916-19). Wounded in 1917 at Vimy Ridge. Later Special Lecturer in Army Signal School. Also lecturer for 4 years to Stockton Evening Technical School.
