1943 Establishment of joint company by Dow Chemical Co and Corning Glass Works, specialising in silicone products for the army. The company later expanded into civilian markets.

1974 Developed a premium silicone treatment for concrete to extend the life of masonry and save heat loss through walls of buildings.[1]
