Dunblane Hydro

1874 The Dunblane Hydropathic Company Limited was incorporated to build a hydropathic establishment on a commanding site in Dunblane. This was during a boom for such enterprises
1878 The building, designed by Edinburgh architects Peddie and Kinnear, opened for business
1884 The enterprise failed and the building was eventually acquired by Andrew Philp. Philp's Dunblane Hydropathic Company Limited was incorporated in 1896
1946 The hotel was extensively damage by fire
1962 Cypriot entrepreneur Sir Reo Stakis bought the hotel and formed an enduring partnership with local bandleader Jim Macleod
2008 After several changes of ownership, the hotel became the Double Tree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro
