"...Mr. Howells, formerly at the head of the mining department of Plymouth Works, in the time of Richard Fothergill, an interesting personality disappears. His father was the last to "scour" the mining area of the parish to obtaining ironstone for smelting in the local works. He lived to see the advent of the Scales, some of the few to sink large fortunes in Wales..."More.
