E. Hewer

From Graces Guide

of Eastleigh, Hants,

1896 Mr Hewer produced a catalogue of steel frames for horse and horseless carriages. The patent applies to the manufacture of the body rather than to the frame or motor, and consists of building up the bodies upon a steel frame so arranged as to give full strength, whilst at the same time saving both weight and space, the frame being riveted and bolted together in such a manner as to be easily accessible for repairing in case of accident. The frames when complete are filled in with wood panelling, and finished in any style desired.[1]
