1966 Appointed marketing manager, small machines division, Electrical Products Group, of The English Electric Co Ltd. Based at Newlands Works, Farsley, Mr Hornby was responsible for formulating sales policies and directing the activities of all sales and contracts sections of the division. He was also in charge of market research, publicity and external relations. He joined The English Electric Co Ltd. in 1939. Since 1962 he was deputy manager of the Motor Department in London.[1]
