1879 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, Elijah Knowles, of Over Darwen, and Thomas Knowles, of Blackburn, both in the county of Lancaster, Cotton Spinners and Power Loom Cloth Manufacturers, carrying on business at Blackburn and Over Darwen aforesaid, under the style or firm of E. and T. Knowles, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. All debts due to or owing by the said firm will be received and paid by the said Thomas Knowles, by whom the said businesses will in future be carried on...'[1]
