1908 Description of generating plant: Newly-installed 750kW Willans-Bruce Peebles turbine-generator. 2400 V, single phase, 1500 rpm. Blades made under the Willans & Robinson and Sankey patents. Richardsons, Westgarth and Co 'Contraflo' condenser. Edwards air pump, driven by 12 HP Rhodes motor. Greenwood and Batley circulating water pump driven by a 12 HP Fuller Electrical Co motor. Automatic atmospheric exhaust valve by Templer and Ranoe. Babcock and Wilcox hand-fired boiler. [1]
