1857 Bankruptcy. 'Edmund Stock, formerly of St, Mary's-gate, Shaw, near Oldham, in the county of Lancaster, Mechanic, then of Sowerby-bridge, near Halifax, in the county of York, and whilst residing at the two latter places, carrying on business in copartnership with George Binns and David Rothwell, at Sowerby-bridge aforesaid, as Machinists, under the firm of Binns, Rothwell, and Stock, then carrying on business in copartnership with the said David Rothwell only, at Sowerhy-bridge aforesaid, as Machinists, under the firm of Rothwell and Stock, and late of St. Mary's-gate, Shaw, near Oldham aforesaid, Mechanic only.'[1]
