1810 Advertisement for sale of paper mill, logwood mill, dyehouse, etc., at Smedley, due to bankruptcy of William (Jr.) (see William Appleton (Paper Maker)) and Edward Appleton[2]

1820 Edward Appleton of Smedley died on 17th January, in the 42nd year of his age[3]
