1881 Born in Aylesbury, son of William Boughton, a grocer, and his wife Grace[1][2]

1906 Married Lizzie Jackson in Coventry[3]

1911 Motor Engineer, working in the motor industry, living in Coventry with Lizzie Boughton 26, Edith Annie Bateman 19, domestic help, Peggie Grace Boughton 6 months[4]

1916 Patent with the Daimler Co on automobile vehicles and trailers

1920 Foundation of Automotive Products

1920-46 Many patents on a variety of technologies concerned with vehicles, many of which were in conjunction with Automotive Products or its subsidiary companies.

1921, 1924 An engineer, when he travelled to the USA[5]

1930 Boughton, Emmott and Brock with Austin Cuthbert Burdon gained a patent for hydraulic brakes for aeroplanes; Boughton, Emmott and Brock gained another patent for fluid pressure braking systems which they assigned to the Automotive Products Co.
