Edward Protheroe

Edward Protheroe Sr. (19th Jan 1774 - 24th Aug 1856) was the son of Philip Protheroe (1747-1803).

He was a partner in Messrs Philip and George Protheroe, 'West India merchants', and also invested in coal mines and in smelting in the Forest of Dean.

He received payments totalling £17,385 in slave owners' compensation payments, un relation to four West India estates.
