1893 Sale Notice: '.... ALL those TWO VALUABLE FREEHOLD SILK MILLS, adjoining each other, and situated on Wallworth's Bank, Congleton, with the LAND on which the same stands, and occupied by Messrs. J. A. Hall & Co., Trimming Manufacturers, together with a VERTICAL CONDENSING ENGINE, 2 ft. 4 in. stroke, cylinder bore 14in., 12-horse power nominal, will work up to about 25-horse power, made by the late Edwin Scragg of Buglawton, Cheshire ....'[2]
