1879 'The Monster India Rubber Belt.— The Largest Ever Made. — This belt measuring 36 inches wide and 107 feet long was supplied to the Darwen Paper Mill Company, Limited, Spring Vale, by Messrs. Entwistle and Nutter, ironmongers, Darwen, who always keeps a large quantity of all sizes in stock, also india rubber sheets, washers, and all kinds of packing of the very best quality. This monster belt may be seen at work at the above mill, or a short length may be seen at Messrs. Entwistle and Nutter's, who are now in a position to supply belting any width up to 72 inches.'[1]
