ERIC HINTON GRIFFITH TOMBLINGS, born at Meerut, Bengal, on the 4th November, 1888, died in hospital on the 21st January, 1916, having been invalided home from the Dardanelles.

He obtained his practical training on the Midland Railway, and was subsequently appointed Assistant Engineer in the New Works Department.

He relinquished this position on the outbreak of war to take a temporary commission in the Royal Engineers.

Mr. Tomblings was elected an Associate Member on the 12th January, 1915.
