Erith Electricity Undertaking

1899 Erith Urban District Council's Electricity Undertaking was authorised.

1903 Public supply of electricity began in January 1903. The Electricity Department operated a generation plant at Walnut Tree Road until 1927.

1922 an agreement was reached with Woolwich and Bexley Undertakings to interconnect the generating systems to save local extensions of generating plant. Later bulk supplies were provided by the Woolwich Undertaking.

1936 the generating station was rebuilt and a new station was erected at Belvedere.
