Ernest Emerson Wilson was born in 1898.
He commenced his engineering training in 1921, following war service, at the University of Wisconsin.
In 1925 he entered Iowa State Teachers' College and obtained a B.A. Degree.
From 1926 to 1928 he was employed at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, first as a Mathematician and then as Junior Engineer.
Following this he entered General Motors Corporation at Detroit as a Research Engineer, and was subsequently transferred to General Motors Proving Ground as Engineer in charge of the acoustical laboratories.
In 1937 he became Technical Assistant to the Director of the General Motors Proving Ground.
He died in January, 1944, at the age of 46.
He was elected a Member in 1938.
