1881 Living at Howbridge Hall, Great Oakley: Frederick Standford (age 73 born Ashbocking Hall, Suffolk), Retired Farmer. With his wife Anna S. and four sons; Charles M. Stanford, Farmer and Auctioneer; Ernest K. Stanford (age 33 born Great Oakley), Engineer and Iron Founder; Arthur H. Stanford Iron and Coal Merchant; and Allen S. Stanford, Farmer.[1]

1894 Died. 'Stanford. On Dec. his 47th birthday, at 7. Head Street, Colchester, Ernest Kinderley Stanford, engineer, fifth son of the late Frederick Stanford, Howbridge Hall, Gt. Oakley, Essex.'[2]
