1910 Both were keen photographers. Published 'Historical record' of Colchester, the result of twelve years work.[1].
1911 Living at The Arc Light, Queen Street, Colchester: Ernest Nathan Mason (age 42 born Wivenhoe), Engineer's draughtsman. With his wife Bertha Betsy Mason (age 38 born Ipswich), Photographic printing, and their four children; Conrad Mason (age 17 born Ipswich), Apprentice to mechanical engineer; Bernard Mason (age 15 born Ipswich); Eudo Colescestra Mason (age 9 born Colchester); and Helena Mason (age 8 born Suffolk).[2]
1914 Ernest Nathan Mason died. 'Mr. Ernest N. Mason passed away at his residence, 19, Crouch Street, Colchester, on Thursday, after a long illness, arising from a nervous breakdown. Mr. Mason, who was in his 47th year, was apprenticed at Messrs. Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies, of Ipswich, and for a number of years remained in their employ. In 1896 he left the town to take up an appointment as chief draughtsman with Messrs. Davey Paxman and Co., at Colchester. He was a sound, practical engineer, a frequent contributor to both English and American engineering magazines...'[3]
1937 Mrs Ernest N. Mason died. Employing 300. Leaves son Bernard Mason who is Joint MD. Also son Eodo and daughter Helena.[4]
