Evans and Owen
1865 The Ely Paper Works at Cardiff were established to make "Esparto half stuff", which was supplied to other paper mills.
1867 the first paper-making machine was installed
1869 the second machine installed
1874 the third machine installed.
1877 Messrs. Evans and Owen of Bath acquired the Ely Paper Works of Cardiff
1885 the fourth machine was installed
On the death of Mr. Evans in 1885, the works were formed into a limited company by Mr. Thomas Owen, M.P.
1889 the fifth machine was installed
1892 Thomas Owen and Co was registered on 2 March to acquire the paper manufacturing business of Evans and Owen. [1]
