1957 The chairman's own companies Electromotive Engineering and Atlas Process Components were acquired by the company, a move which was later questioned by some shareholders[1]

1958 Merger proposed with Francis Sumner (Holdings) but this did not proceed[2]

1958 Ewart Holdings, owners of Trix, collapsed. Dufay Ltd was a major creditor who acquired the assets of Trix and Precision Models.
