1859 Sale of contents the property of John Manley who has sold the mills.[1]

1869 Description and illustrations of Poncelet water wheel installed in 1867 at Exwick Mills, designed by E. W. Buller. Equipment produced and installed by Bodley Brothers and Co and Martin and Son of Eagle Foundry, Exeter.[2]. The waterwheel no longer exists.

1886 'The Exwick Mills are being entirely rebuilt by Mr. W R Mallett, and the 'Millers' Gazette' notices that the mill will be fitted with roller plant on the newest lines, adapted for large production and economical expenditure of power. The mill to be driven by both water and steam'[3]

1891 Exwick Mill: William R. Mallett (age 70? born Thorverton), Corn Miller. With his wife Ann R., son William R. and two daughters. Two servants.[4]

1891 'Notice is hereby given that the business of MILLER conducted by WILLIAM RICE MALLETT for the past years, formerly at Thorverton, but for many years past at Exwick Mills, was transferred to his son, WILLIAM RICHARD MALLETT, as and from the 20th day of July, 1891, who will pay all debts, and receive all moneys due in connection with the said business.'[5]

1935 Funeral of William Richard Mallett, principal of the firm of Messrs. W. R. Mallett, Ltd., of Exwick Mills.[6]
