EZRA SYKES, the managing director of Messrs. John Sykes & Sons, Ltd., machine makers, Turnbridge, Huddersfield, died on January 1, 1906, at the age of fifty-seven, at his residence in Huddersfield. He had suffered for some time from the effects of an accident at the works of his firm on July 3, 1897. He was apprenticed to machine making with the firm of which he ultimately became managing director, when it was converted into a limited liability company.

He was a member of the Manchester Association of Engineers. He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1890.
