Frank Fogden of Fogden and Butler

1932 'An alarming experience befell the occupants of car the Loudon-Southend arterial road on Tuesday night. Mr. Frank Fogden, jun., a partner in the firm, of Messrs. Fogden's, Ltd., motor agents, Southend, and Mr. L. P. Williams, sales manager, were returning from Birmingham to Southend with a new saloon car, and when about a mile on the Southend side of the Halfway House, near midnight, a shot was fired. Mr. Williams, who was driving, accelerated, and at Leigh reported the matter to the police. On examination of the car a bullet mark was found on the off side door about the level of the driver's knees. Mr. Fogden said he recognised the "wang" that of a revolver.'[1]
