1972 O. D. Guest was renamed F. H. Tomkins Buckle Co[1]

1981 F. H. Tomkins faced problems in many parts of its business; reorganisation of F. H. Tomkins Buckle Co led to 50 redundancies.[2]

1986 F. H. Tomkins Buckle Co was incorporated to acquire O. D. Guest, maker of chain, hook, cart gear work, buckles, coach and motor fittings, general hardware, etc[3]

1989 The name of the company was changed to F. H. T. Holdings Ltd

1989 F. H. Tomkins Buckle Co was incorporated as a subsidiary of F. H. T. Holdings; the ultimate parent was Tomkins plc

1993 F. H. T. Holdings which was owned by Pegler-Hattersley plc and Tomkins Investments Ltd ceased appointing auditors

1998 The last part of the "original" Tomkins company, F. H. Tomkins Buckle Co, was sold to a private investor[4], Robert Parkes.

2011 Company voluntarily wound up[5]
