1923 Obituary

'A large circle of friends of Mr Francis (Frank) R. Fry, eldest son of the late Mr Francis J. Fry, will regret to learn of his death yesterday morning, at his home in London, was at one time associated with the business of J. S. Fry and Sons, but relinquished active, part therein many years ago, was a keen sportsman. He was of genial temperament, and popular with his acquaintances. As young man he was remarkably good cyclist. That was in the days before the safety bicycle, and on the high bicycle he had a good record successes local and- other events. One of these was the winning a 50 mile race at the Zoological Gardens in the days when cycling events took place there. Before he left the Bristol district altogether he lived at Keynsham, and since then has travelled much. He was a general patron of sport and exhibited at local shows. In later years he owned race horses, and became well known in the racing world.'[1]
