Consulting engineers

1958 The Flint & Neill Partnership was founded by Tony Flint and Tony Neill as a consulting office of civil and structural engineers.

c1970 Appointed by Redpath Dorman Long to develop a re-erection scheme for the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne. Flint & Neill had the major responsibility for the assessment and strengthening design for the steel bridge; advice on inspection, operation and maintenance; developing designs for early works improved access; and for producing a current set of electronic as-built drawings from historical documents and original drawings.

1978 B. W. Smith became a partner.

1981 The original founders retired; J.E. Evans and Ian P. T. Firth became partners.

1997 B.W. Smith retired; D.K. MacKenzie became a partner.

2002 J.E. Evans retired, leaving Ian Firth and D. K. MacKenzie as sole partners.

2008 Flint & Neill was acquired by Danish consulting firm COWI but continued under the name of Flint & Neill Limited.
