Founded originally in 1867 by Ezard & Co., and taken over by Campbell Forrest and Alexander Sym, in 1883.[1]

1926 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, Campbell Forrest, Alexander Sym, Ralph Sym and Walter Ernest Gunthorpe, carrying on business as Iron and Brass Founders and Mechanical Engineers, at Philip's Park-road Foundry, in the city of Manchester, under the style or firm of FORREST & SYM, has been dissolved by mutual consent as and from the first day of February, 1926. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Campbell Forrest, Alexander Sym and Ralph Sym who will continue the said business under the style or firm of Forrest & Sym...'[2]
