Forsyths

From Graces Guide

of Morayshire Copperworks, Rothes

Distillers',Brewers' and marine coppersmiths, manufacturers and suppliers of copper pot stills to the distilleries of Scotland.

c.1890 Alexander Forsyth began as an apprentice at the brass and copperworks of Robert Willison.

1933 Forsyth bought the business from Willison on his retirement and the business traded thereafter as A. Forsyth and Son.

1977 The business was registered as a private company, A. Forsyth and Son (Rothes) Limited, with capital of £200,000.[1]

1998 The company changed its name to Forsyths Limited.[2]

The company's business was long focused on the Scotch whisky industry, but given the cyclical nature of that industry, of necessity it expanded into other sectors, particularly oil and gas.
