1899 Henry Fownes set up the St Bede's Works

1899 of 37 Lime Street, London

1901 Arthur Augustus Fownes was commercial manager, forge[1]

1904 Henry Fownes died; his brother Arthur took over direction of the business.

1922 Arthur A. Fownes was managing director; the business was at Cardiff Forge, Cardiff.

1928 EGM at Newcastle decided on voluntary liquidation for the company[2]. Fownes Forge and Engineering Co (1928) was incorporated.
