1864 The business was established by William France and Robert Morgan in Clyde Street, Anderston, Glasgow. In 1882 the firm moved to new premises in Carmichael Street. The firm was mainly engaged in the manufacture of all kinds of brass work for marine engines.[1]

1922 France and Morgan Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £20,000, to take over the business of the same name, brassfounders.[2]
