1818 David Napier went into partnership with Francis Baisler, a London stationer, to open a machine shop in Lloyd's Court, St Giles, repairing and later building printing machines.
1822 Baisler left the partnership; Napier continued in business on his own account.
1847 March 2nd. Stationer and Bookseller of 124 Oxford Street declared bankrupt [2]
1851 Living at 124 Oxford Street, London (age 66 born Forfar, Angus, Scotalnd), Bookseller and Stationer. With wife Jessie (age 35 born Moray, Elgin) and neice Helen Sutherland (age 13). Plus three servants. [3]
