Frank Bibby (1857-1923) of the Bibby Line
Born at Liverpool the son of James Jenkinson Bibby and his wife Sarah Cook.

1923 Died. 'Mr. Frank Bibby, whose death took place in London yesterday morning, after illness of about four weeks, was well known in the commercial life of Liverpool, and equally well known among sporting men as enthusiastic supporter of steeple chasing. He belonged to a family that has been identified with Liverpool shipping for more than a hundred years, and in due course became chairman of the Bibby Line of steamers, a firm owning about a dozen largo twin screw steamers which trade between Liverpool, the Mediterranean, and Southern Indian ports and Rangoon. He had other commercial activities, and was a director of the Great Western Railway Company, the Cork City Railways Company, and of the Fishguard and Rosslare Railways and Harbours Company. His shipping interests brought him great wealth, and for many years he lived at Hardwicke Grange, near Shrewsbury, where ho fulfilled the duties of country He was a Magistrate and Deputy Lieutenant for the County, and 1900 was High Sheriff...'[1]
