1966 Obituary[1]

"We regret to record the death on November 17, of Mr. Frank H. Hearn, formerly Senior Assistant Secretary of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Mr. Hearn, who was born on January 29, 1899, joined the Institution staff in January 1921, and served in various capacities for 43 years. After his retirement in 1964 he continued to act as consultant to the Institution for a short time and then, in 1966, took over the honorary secretaryship of the Greater London Branch. For many years he acted as accountant to the Institution's benevolent fund."


1967 Obituary [2]

Mr FRANK H. HEARN (Companion) died on 17th November 1966, aged 67. He had devoted almost the whole of his working life to the service of the Institution, beginning with his engagement as Personal Assistant to the then Secretary, General Mowat in 1921. He finally became Senior Assistant Secretary, a post he held at the date of his retirement in 1964.
