Brother of James Salmond

1911 Died. 'The death occurred to-day of Mr Frank Salmond, of the firm Messrs J. & F. Salmond, civil engineers, Dundee. The sad event took place his residence, The Firs, West Newport. Mr Salmond was native of Letham, where he was born in 1845. After receiving his education at the village school he came to Dundee, where he entered the office his brother, Mr James Salmond. On completing his apprenticeship he proceeded to Glasgow to fill a position in the engineering offices of the Caledonian Railway Company under the late Mr G. Graham, C.E. In 1872 he returned to the city, and joined his brother in partnership. Mr Salmond was well known not only in the city, but by the farmers and agriculturists in the surrounding districts, among whom his firm did an extensive business.'[1]
