FRANZ Baron MAYR VON MELNHOF died at Himberg, near Vienna, on July 18, 1893, at the early age of thirty-nine. He was a member of the Austrian Parliament, and the proprietor of iron mines and works in the Leoben district. He took great interest in the Vienna Meeting of the Iron and Steel Institute, and was elected a member in 1883.
