"FREDERICK FRANCIS TRILL, who was born in 1895, received his technical education at the Brighton Municipal Technical. College and the University Engineering College, Westgate-on-Sea, and served his apprenticeship in the tramway department of the Brighton Corporation, from 1913 to 1916. He found his first employment in the drawing office of Messrs. Allen West and Company, Ltd., of Brighton, where he was concerned with the development of electric motor control gear.
Later he was promoted senior draughtsman. From 1923 to 1927 he filled positions as draughtsman to various engineering firms, including the British Thomson-Houston Company, Ltd., and the British Electric Transformer Company, Ltd., of Hayes, Middlesex, for whom he was engaged as assistant chief draughtsman. He then secured an appointment as technical engineer to Messrs. Waygood-Otis, Ltd., lift manufacturers, London, which he held until 1941 when he became attached to the Ministry of Labour, where he continued to serve in the mechanical engineering section of the National Service Register up to the time of his death, which occurred on 14th July 1947. Mr. Trill was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1946. He was also an Associate of the Institution of Electrical Engineers."
