1914 Furley and Company Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £10,000, to take over the business of shipowners, keel and lighter owners, canal and river carriers, and general forwarding agents, carried on by R. Furley and F. E. Furley as "Furley and Co", at Hull and Sheffield, as "R. Furley and Co" at Gainsborough, Nottingham and Stockwith.[1]
