Member, Legislative Council of Bengal, 1923-5. On Indian Council of State, 1928-30. Partner, Bird and Co., Calcutta, 1925-31. Knighted, 1919. Of 86, Rivermead Court, Ranelagh Gardens, London, in 1940. .
