Mr. Grime is a senior principal scientific officer of the Traffic and Safety Division of the D.S.I.R. Road Research Laboratory. He was educated at St. Davids County School, Pembrokeshire, and at the Swansea College of the University of Wales, from which he graduated in 1927 with first class honours in physics.

Most of the pre-war years were spent at the Building Research Station, working on various applications of electronics to building problems.

During the 1939-45 war he was in charge of a section at the Road Research Laboratory specializing in the measurement of blast pressures from bombs, guns, and rockets, underwater explosion pressures, and the underground phenomena from buried bombs.
